I'm upgrading a site from Drupal 4.7 to 5.6, and everything has gone well up until the point when I try to upgrade the image module using update.php. The only other modules that haven't been updated are nodewords and the image assist module. I was thinking that I should wait to upgrade the image assist module until I got the image module straightened out. Here is what I'm getting...

"An unrecoverable error has occured. You can find the error message below. It is advised to copy it to the clipboard for reference. Please continue to the update summary."

"An HTTP error 500 occured. update.php?op=do_update."

And when I go to the update summary, it reads...

"The update process was aborted prematurely while running update #4 in image.module."

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just a quick thought so apologises if it simply isn't right...
Is this the issue which only shows up when you're running update.php in Firefox and where you really need to run it in IE instead?

That's not it. I've tried both Firefox and IE6. I've also just recently tried it after repairing all the tables in my database. I still get the same error. Any other thoughts?

Can any one help?

I had the same problem. It is resolved by cleaning the browser cache (including cookies) and also make sure that the version of the module you have trouble with is set to the correct value in system table. This worked for me.
Good luck!

How do you find the version of an installed module? It doesn't show up in the module's page.

thanks in advance.

You can find the version of the module by looking at the system table.
