Why are the nodes created with Node Import missing teaser when a list of nodes are viewed on the front page.

Import nodes that get promoted to front page, on front page only title is visible, yu must click title to open and read node body. If node is edited, no changes needed, just edit and click publish, then the body teaser starts appearing on the front page under node title.

This only happens when node is created with Node Import, why is the teaser body on the front page missing?

I found that Node Import doesn't populate the teaser filed in the node_revisions table.
This explains why I don't see a teaser on the front page for nodes imported with a bulk node import.

Is this a bug with Node Import?
Any one got a patch to fix this?
