I recently launch a new Drupal Houston Real estate site at http://www.houstonproperties.com and would really appreciate comments and feedback.
The site has about 500 pages of content and I moved to drupal because it was too difficult to maintain a site without a good CMS. I've added a number of the "fun social2.0 modules" including Digg, Event, Google Co-op CSE, Google Translate, Guestbook, poll, service links, survey, statistics, technorati. I also have installed the forum module, but don't have it live yet.
Would really appreciate any feedback, and if you're a senior Drupal developer looking for some freelance projects (especially if you have any fixes or suggestions), please let me know - I'm using outside consultants for this site and a few others.
I'm also using Media Temple's grid hosting - not in love with it as I've had a few problems in the first few weeks including a MySql grid container upgrade that got a "manual" error in transferring the database and shut the entire site down for a few hours. It seems to run slow - would really appreciate any suggestions. I've also read the hosting forums, but if I'd sure appreciate another good hosting recommendation. Thanks!

Pretty good! How did you or what did you use for the property search on the top right hand corner?
Searches through: 1) Google
Searches through:
1) Google custom search engine
2) Custom drupal search (from the front page) is done through a redirect to a iframe to our Houston realtor system (not a standard drupal module)
Very nicely done.
Very nicely done. I really like the site layout. Very well thought out.
Are you using any of the dupal real estate modules or was it custom development?
Thanks
Thanks for the comment. I didn't use any of the drupal real estate modules, it was custom with the local realtor multiple listing service
very nice
the site looks very nice, especially the search results page... are you using views?
only suggestions would be 1) have top banner link to home, 2) instead of listing bookmark sites along the bottom, would use addthis.com widget.
also, i'm a houston area enterprise software developer (PeopleSoft and Oracle) with drupal experience, primarily forms api... can contact at sherman@kinetex.com for potential freelance work.
thx
really appreciate the comments and suggestions - following up with you now by email too
Blog Contest? / Survey Module?
I'm also running a blog contest (giving away a chance to win two tickets to the NCAA March Madness Championship Game in Houston - http://www.houstonproperties.com/ncaa-basketball.html) and using the survey module to track entries. Is there a more elegant module to track results from blog contests or is the survey module the best suggestion? thanks
Really like the site design
I really like the design you used. I have a developer who is putting together a site for me, but I dont think he has the design part down. I would really like to have a design similar to what you have done, but with lighter colors. Would you be open to working with me on the design part? Compensated work of course. It would really just be using the same design you have done from the menu links down (same sections), but with lighter colors matching my logo. If you are interested please email me directly at pacific_949@yahoo.com. Thanks,
Scott
Designer
I didn't design the site, but contracted that out. If you email me at pmm [ at ] houstonproperties.com, I'd be happy to give you their name and contact information - he does great work.
