I have the same bug that has been reported in version 5.x but I'm using the 6.x version.

There is a Blank Space at the first post. If I put more block content in the left menu the more Blank Space in the first post.

I committed a new node.tpl.php in an attempt to fix this clearing issue. It will be packaged in a few hours, or you can grab it from there. Tell me if that changes anything.
