The above message appears in red on the advanced profile admin page. Any ideas how to resolve this?

That should only show up if you check the box to create the content type more than once. Can you confirm you're not doing that?

I actually don't get the error any more. The message was appearing when first going into the module after enabling it. I have installed and uninstalled the dev and alpha versions over a dozen times in the last 24 your with other combinations trying to resolve my previous error (the one about the undefined function on line 108) that I can not tell you the exact state required to get the error. I did just go through the steps you describe and did get the message in red. Previously though, I did not get the second line that tells you why you have an issue (e.g. running it again)
