Language concerns for possible new Drupal site
Hi all.
I would essentially be trying to re-create a self-contained help system that was originally created using a bunch of HTML files.
One of the things I am concerned about is one of the new requirements will be to provide both French and English versions of the help. Specifically about the implementation: I am guessing I would have a menu link at the top of the site that allows a user to switch between French and English. Would this be two separate sites, or one site with 2x the nodes?
Next, I don't actually speak French, and we are currently talking about several hundred help pages. I see there is a module called automated web translation workflow that allows nodes to be exported to XML, translated by a tool then refined by a human, then re-imported. I know someone that is capable of translating, but I would need to provide a tool for them so they are working on the raw text. Any ideas on this one?
If I were to do this right now, I'd just have the person use Dreamweaver (after using one of the many HTML-based English to French translator tools) with the design tab open so it is text only.
Will this approach work? Is there a better approach?

I use the localizer module
I use the localizer module
http://drupal.org/project/localizer
to create bilingual sites. You can translate all your menus and taxonomy. Nodes are associated together in each language. You can either associate another node as the translation or create a new node as the translation.
Content can be set to `any` language and appears all the time.
There is a new version on the way, and it's got lots of nice features lined-up.
