Additional views

Extended views beyond a month would be a great enhancement to the event module. I know this can sort of be achieved using additional views with lists, but it would be nice if this module matched the functionality of calendar in displaying a full year view. I tried to use calendar to display event events for the year view but for some reason could not get any event events to show up in calendar, perhaps I did something wrong though but now I am kind of off topic.
