Description

Hi,

I would like my blog to be added to Planet Drupal.

You can find it at http://www.drupalcoder.com .

A feed is available at http://www.drupalcoder.com/rss.xml

All writings are Drupal related.

Please create a Planet Drupal tag to tag Planet material. At the least, we should use the distinct Drupal tag.

eg. http://www.drupalcoder.com/story/4-how-to-work-from-the-terminal-command... doesn't seem Drupal related, only in a very far "it's about a server" way, and I have some doubts about http://www.drupalcoder.com/story/15-disable-error-reporting-to-the-scree... being Planet material, though clearly Drupal related.

Also I'd say drupalcoder.com is not something which looks like a good use of the Drupal trademark as far as I see.

@ Gabor : How is that?

@ Heine: Fair enough... Someone told me to apply for the Planet. What qualifies for a relevant post?

Well, drupalcoder.com is such a generic use of the name, that IMHO you should not use it (yourself). Basically you should stand on your own instead of piggy-backing this name. If your site has a bad reputation for whatever (spam, bad content, etc), it sheds a bad light on the Drupal name itself. If you name your site "pretty ponies" or whatever, this is not the case. I think this is quite simple to understand.

Gabor, I can see your point. But my site isn't about ponies. I'm writing about Drupal. And stuff that crosses my path while developing Drupal stuff.

Davy, if you can point me anybody on Planet Drupal who is not writing about "Drupal or stuff that crosses their path while developing Drupal stuff", then you are welcome for a beer. Interestingly all of them found their own names, with a very small number of them using Drupal in their domain or site name. I am not authoritative on Drupal trademark issues, so feel free to ignore me here. I am just trying to point out that your use of the trademarked name is not good practice as far as I see.

Gábor, you mean like http://drupal4hu.com for instance?

I really think it's a shame that a prime and early adapting Belgian developer, who helped the VRT launch 16plus.be in early 2006, is getting rebuked. Let the DA decide on any trademark issues. In the meantime, with all new (and sometimes very low-quality) sites added, I say we put http://www.drupalcoder.com/tags/drupal on the Planet.

And how about...

http://www.drupaltoughlove.com/
http://drupalmao.com/taxonomy/term/4/0
http://www.drupaltherapy.com/prescriptions
http://gotdrupal.com/planet/feed
http://www.rundrupal.com/subject/drupal

?

Anyway, seems like a lot of Drupal people are finding the posts through Google. And I'm busy seeing which posts I can copy to the Drupal handbook. Let's hope people will find the info there.
