"No problem switching over the project, if you can do that for me i would appreciate it. There was some activity by a contributor who submitted some patches to up it to 5.x, but i never got around to doing the merge. If someone can take it further that would be good."

I'm almost finished porting of the module to a D6 will commit it soon. It will have some extra features - will support password expirations, warning messages, etc. So if there is a need for a D5 version I would recommend backporting from D6 rather than porting from D4.7.
