We have the 5.x-2.0 Node Clone module installed on Drupal 5.6. When cloning a node, the author is, by default, still set to the original author, and not to the currently logged in user. It's my understanding that when cloning a node, the publishing data is reset. It does seems to be working properly in this case.

the fix is in in CVS, but I have not made a new release yet.
