I'm having problems getting url aliases to work properly. It works find on some but not on others. I'm not sure what the problem is. I've even deleted the aliases in question and re added them but they still show as /node/91 type url.
Is there a way to fix this?

For the pages that don't work, if you go to their Edit form, go down to "URL path settings".
Is automatic alias checked? (should be)
Is the resulting search engine friendly URL in the format that you want? (I assume nid/title).

Are you using pathauto module (hint: you probably want to be)? You should also try adding global redirect module.

As Lynn suggested, you probably want to have pathauto and Global Redirect modules installed to achieve search engine friendly URLs. You could follow my guide for those modules here - http://www.hagrin.com/306/seo_drupal_5_creating_search_engine_friendly_urls
