May I ask this question?
I found that there are almost none who creates professional templates which standards are equal to various Joomla templates, such as Yootheme, Rocket theme, Joomlashack.
Why is it?
As far as I know, it is hard for me to create templates in Drupal whereas Joomla is so easy peasy to create templates.
Will Drupal make it easier for us to create templates?
I wonder ....

I do not find theme hard to create in Drupal and since I have not used Joomla I can not compare how easy it is between the two.
There are a number of solid Drupal themes that can serve as a good starting point or one can with a little more work create one from scratch.

They implemented Ajax functions nicely and designed nicely as well. I am not able to find any of these quality in Drupal.
Tab function, accordion function, horizontal slider, spotlight, etc etc.
Joomla has developed deeper level of design and ajax function.
I know that Drupal community has a lot of talents and they can do it. But unfortunately Drupal templates are dull and not so attractive. Drupal needs to put more energy to create these kinds of templates.

Beginners usually prefer Joomla while techies prefer Drupal and those techies prefer to create their own custom themes rather than using templates, which makes Joomla to be more profitable for theme builders?
Question is "How many people need that service in Drupal community".
Drupal theming as easy or more simple than a joomla
Template, The companies that sell joomla templates presently competeting each other and produce complex templates.
When it comes to drupal, basic theme building is as easy as joomla and complex theming is more easier than joomla. Then why joomla has more sexy templtes?
There are more than one reasons
1, When joomla was introduced with professional looking installer, it could atract many people even non programmers could install the script on the servers. Till version 5 drupal had no professional installer.
2 Documentaion, this year only drupal have had book on theme develpment, Joomla had more.
3 Tools like dreamweaver extensions:- If you go to Joomla extension directory you will see tens of tool that helps you building templates, But drupal has none.
2008 is break through year for dupal
1) now there is a company supporting Dupal.
2) the gap beteween the the techies and designers will be bridged by books and tools.

Having a DW extension for theme snippets would be great!
But I have been watching you for a while and I wonder when will we able to use your extension. At your page you mentioned its at beta phase. Untill now I couldn't see anything more than name and promises.
By the way I don't believe in having an extension will close the gap. Because we already can find snippets used in theming on various pages. Such extension only will acelerate that copy&paste job. People still need talent to create "designs" rather than bunch of crap :)

It will be beyond any joomla or wordpress extension for DW! A maggical one. Once it is out any theme designer will hold it close hart. A wizard has always been a timesaver too.
I deeply regret for not getting it out, It will be out in one week or two.
At he same,You are talking from a programmers perspective. Millions of talented designers are there, but they raise their eybrows to php codes, Many starts and stops halfway, since the codes are not user friendly and intutive.

Feel free to start one. OS doesn't work by people stating the obvious need and having it magically appear. If you want something, you need to make it happen.

I am glad to hear about the news. And I am looking forward to seeing more sexy templates in Drupal.
But the questions are ..
Why aren't there so many companies doing it? Why they don't adapt Drupal for their business? Why only one company is making templates for Drupal? What can Drupal change so that there are more sexy templates and attract designers and beginners as well?
I think techies(Drupal users) can be sexy and attractive too. Why not. Drupal can be hotter and sexier.
We need more DW plug-ins and make it designer friendlier.
Drupal can show that Drupal is cool and hot.

Actually there are "sexy drupal techies" :) out there but they provide full drupal customization service rather than theming since diving into modules is alot harder than theming.
