i have installed it and configed it, etc. but when i create a content type and then address as a field, it doesn't work. i go to create that type of content and the state dropdown isn't populated and the country dropdown isn't either, it only has a check mark in it strangely....

any help would be greatly appreciated....

You said:

it doesn't work

which is clearly not true since this is one of my most popular modules and many many people use without difficulty. Perhaps you should have said, "I can't get it to work" or "What am I doing wrong?"

The first thing to check would be to make sure that the database tables were created. There are two. See the .install file for what they should look like. They should at least have the U.S. data in them.

Also, when you setup the cck field, what countries did you select as available?

This project has screenshots available from the project page. Did you look at them?

I was having the same issue - you have to make *sure* to set a country (even if it's just "United States").

Thanks elgreg, that was my problem as well - since I wasn't using the Country field, I just ignored the check box!

Reopening (tenatively) and making priority minor. "I am unable to get to work" after reinstalling, uninstalling, deleting tables, installing again, verifying tables, etc... even with US selected, no states populate the states drop-down.

There's some sort of conflict with ActiveSelect module, only in IE6 (some reports say IE7 too). Disabling that module, lets the State drop-down get populated properly.

*update*: using the 2007-Apr-10 dev version of ActiveSelect fixes this problem.
