The following error must be resolved before you can continue the installation process:
The Drupal installer requires write permissions to ./sites/default/settings.php during the installation process.

The permissions on /sites/default/settings.php are preventing Drupal from writing configuration information to it.
If you are on a Linux box, change permissions to 777, then change them back again immediately after installation.
