E-mail a notification to a user when his account is activated, so that registering users know when they're able to use their account (when activation by an admin is required).

Sorry earnie, haven't got much time. I try to contribute patched here and there, but this is something I don't really know how to start with.

There is another module for that anyway for Drupal 5 - User status change notifications and is part of core Drupal 6
