I posted this issue at http://drupal.org/node/219174 (sorry for cross-posting here, but I'm not really sure what's at fault). Basically, I've set my user_image_large image to be 125x125. However, using ImageMagick, the final dimensions on GIF files is wrong - the example I've attached is 154x125 (the original uploaded image - also attached - was 608x494). There are also transparent borders on the left and the right side. This would lead me to suspect that something is going wrong with the crop step for GIFs.

NOTE: this only occurs with GIFs and ImageMagick. GIFs with GD2 come out correctly. JPGs with ImageMagick come out correctly. Any ideas?

which version of the imagecache toolkit are you using? like which version of the image module did it come from?
