Hi
I am signing up at a web-host that says it has recurrent billing. The exact text on its FAQ page is:
Q. How do I make a payment?
A. All online payments are recurring. Your payment will automatically be deducted. You may also pay manually each billing cycle using the Paypal Buynow option.
I do have a paypal account, but no money in it. So I plan to use a credit card, that too of my friend's.
The issue is
a) I do not want recurrent billing. If not then how does manual billing occur?
b) since the billing is recurrent, that means they store the credit card information, which I believe is not good.
Can anybody please help me and tell me more about this recurrent billing? should I opt for it?
Thanks and Regards

Hi,
It is the same as having the billing by yourself but saves money. Most of the companies bill on recurring basis as the merchant account processors they are using is supporting. It is secure as you pass your credit card details only the first time and then, only the system says your bank you need to be billed and that is all. You should be able to cancel this at the moment you want.
Good Luck!
It's the standard
I would say just about every web host uses recurring billing. And the vast majority of people who have web hosting use the automatic recurring payment. Not only is it commonplace, but it's safe. You don't hear about hundreds of thousands of people complaining about it.
There's a couple reasons to use it. The host can get their money every month, and they wont shut down your account because you forgot to pay them.
Just make sure that their order page use ssl and https://.

Thank you
I was a little apprehensive as credit card data being passed can be an issue. But if its the order of the day, without any problems till now, I can lower my guard. Although I have already opted for manual payment with regard to my present host.
Hopefully, will ask for recurrent stuff as that will ease some worries.
Best Regards
