In helping a newbie learn to theme with zen we ran into a fatal problem that others may easily run into. She accidentally did a find and replace of SUBTHEME without making it case-sensitive. I see that it points out not to do this in the documentation, but why not just use a different word or even SUB_THEME? As it is now those who are not too savvy with their find and replace will got a WSOD.

Well, Zen is a good theme for beginners, so I guess we should try to prevent them from shooting themselves in the foot.

And apparently, writing instructions that say “don’t shoot yourself in the foot” isn’t good enough. ;-)
