I am looking to put categories to it as current answers module is very basic. I am thinking of using taxonomy or better cck+views to get more out of it.
Just wanted to ask, what is recommended here ? I mean which is the preferred way of adding more to the module ?

I have used the taxonomy module myself. I usually create a single level taxonomy vocabulary with a set of categories I want for the questions nodes and require all questions choose a category.
You can then use views to create a view (with a page and/or block) to match your needs.

Can you please tell how this can be done ?
I do not see any options. Are you using CCK or something else to put an option to choose categories for questions ?
