Conference management module?

Hello there, I'm new to all this -- is there a conference management module (some people call it events management) ie conf. program, registrations, financials etc?

Drupal doesn't have a dedicated conference management module. I'm not sure it is feasible to have a module doing that either.

However the picture is not that bad. Depending on the functionality required you should be able to assemble a decent conference/event management site.

For conference program you can use flexinode+event.module

Registrations - user+profile from core

financials - I'm not sure about this one - the ecommerse bundle may be of help.

At the moment I working on two conferences with different requirements, one of the far exceeds what you've described above, and drupal serves well for the
core conference needs.

that looks good, but I don't know anything about playing with msql configs, though I can get into the admin part of my website. I will ask a friend for help.

don't worry ablut mysql configs too much. drupal setup including mysql configuration is well documented in the handbook.

The different modules I mentioned, have their installation instructions, even if those are missing for some reason, they follow the typical module installation workflow, as described in the drupal handbook

Have a go and play with it. It might look scary, but it is very simple actually.
