Description

How does og_default_roles compare to OG Promote or other modules that use OG to change roles of OG group members? If you can, please include your response on the project page (it might prevent future support requests). Thanks!

From installing it and looking at the ui it gives you the ability to assign each group with any number of roles, rather than og promote which only allows you to sort out one group with multiple roles. at least that is the impression I get from playing with both for the site I'm building at the moment

That makes sense. Thanks, tarluk.

There's a patch in the OG Promote issue queue that allows one role per OG group. (I think that feature made it into a recent release.) If I understand you correctly, OG Default Roles allows assigning multiple roles per OG group. Is that right?

Yeh that pretty much sums it up. However at the moment I'm having trouble because it does not seem to have installed the table in the database which it needs to run *see the bug that I have started up for the details* so I can't fully test if that is how it functions.

I've attached a screen shot of the interface which you get from the module.

I'm intending to use it with the forum access module to have sections of a forum which are group based, seems like a much more elegant solution to the problem than giving each group a forum with the og forum module, especially as you can then have all the forums in one view really easily.

so fingers crossed this bug with the og_default_roles table not being installed when you enable the module can get fixed, I wish I knew more about php so I could figure out what was going wrong

Thanks again, tarluk. With your help I have a better idea of what it does, but as far as this issue is concerned I'm inclined to leave it open until Josh Benner updates the docs.

I've updated the project description and mirrored the changes in README.txt. Please provide some feedback. If it sucks, please offer some suggestions. :)
