I just upgraded to the latest release (5.x-1.x-dev) - and the option to select what related content to send in my newsletter has vanished! I went through the content types and made sure everything was selected and setup (correct views etc) with no joy. I have now installed your Beta3 to see if that helped, but alas nothing. Please advise how i can get this working again.
Many thanks.

First of all, why not using the stable release 1.6?

Second, I wonder exactly what have had vanished?

Third, can yo please verify following:

  • You are user 1 or has a role with all permissions necessary to administer and edit nodes.
  • On admin/content/types/newsletter, the checkbox Enabled ticked.
  • On admin/content/types/newsletter, Where to display is either Beginning or End.
  • On admin/content/types/newsletter, at least one existing View is selected.
  • On viewing an already created node of the newsletter content type, there is a tab called RelatedContent and underneath it a tab or tabs called after your selected view(s).

Fourth and last, may I ask you to answer following questions:

  • Version of Drupal?
  • Version of MySQL?
  • Version of PHP?
  • What is your RelatedContent configuration for Simplenews (i.e. at admin/content/types/newsletter)?
  • Are you using any node access module, e.g. TAC?
  • if you are not user 1, which privileges do you have?

Hi

I have installed the stable 1.6 and it has made no difference.

Essentially what has happened, is that before i upgraded to the new release, when i went to create a new newsletter there was a 'drop down' to add related content into my newsletter. That has now dissapeared. I went to admin/content/types/simplenews and everything is selected correctly as well as the view i created which just simply selects content type = story.

I am using Dupal 5.2, MySQL 5.0.22, and php 5.2.4 on Apache 2.2.6 and i am running as user1.

The RelatedContent fieldset within the node edit form has been replaced with an own RelatedContent tab next to View and Edit as seen on this screenshot and also described in the handbook. Do you see it, or is it missing for you?

Ah hah! I see where i went wrong. I was used to adding the related content before i created the newsletter. Not after.

It seems to all be working fine. Thanks very much for your time and effort :-)
