This template links to a spammy cialis and viagra site. Is this a joke or do you think we're that stupid?

This is a google ban waiting to happen. Totally unethical!!! Either remove the link, charge a fee or remove the theme entirely.

@ 2222a lighten up a little. : )
After some close inspection and a little bit more research I realize now that bboyjay simply left intact the original authors footer links. The original author is ginger ninja and it is that persons site which is a pharamacy. This may not have been the case when bboyjay originally ported this theme over to Drupal. This may mean that it wasn't bboyjays intention to distribute the theme with a link to a pharmacy. When bboyjay proted this, the site linked in the footer may not have even been a pharmacy.

Innocent until proven guilty : )

@ bboyjay
page.tpl.php of this theme has a link in the footer ginger ninja!
which does indeed link to a pharmacology site. I agree this link should be removed from the footer while the theme is being distributed on drupal.org While I respect that you've chosen to leave the footer of the original intact, I do believe in this case you can remove it with just cause.

@VeryMisunderstood: thanks for watching and thanks for your response. IMHO this link should be removed or the theme should be unpublished from d.o, so I'm bumping the priority.

@ 2222a: In my own defense, I did notice the link changed last year, and removed the link from the footer. The original template did have that link in it. When I port themes over, I ask the author if it is okay to GPL it and release it on drupal.org. He did say it was okay but only if I left the link in the footer. I don't know the reasons behind why the contents of his site changed, but when it did become a "spammy viagra site", I tried to get in contact with the author again to find out what was going on, and if I could remove the link. The email address no longer worked because it was tied to the domain and the emails were bouncing back. He may have lost the rights to that domain, or sold it. How is that my fault? How am I assuming you and the drupal community is stupid?

I'm not exactly sure why this is still showing up in the footer of the theme for 5.x-1.x-dev. If you actually checked out the drupal-5 branch in CVS, you'll see that the footer link IS removed from the footer. I did the same with the head version and the link has been removed from there as well.

Based on what I know of the release system, all I needed to do was clean up that branch and the dev version would be updated within 24 hours. Based on all of my tests, this just didn't happen. I can't figure it out for the life of me.

@VeryMisunderstood && @dww: Do either of you know why my 5xdev version of this theme isn't the same as the D5 branch in CVS?

Guys,
I am sorry if I was harsh but it was not particularly directed at any one person. I was plssed off that I saw it there. It seemed and it is tricky.

Edited by dww to remove spam links and locking the format so this can't be edited to re-add them.

Jerome22, As far as I can tell the link has been removed from the footer. Please be clearer in your explaination and ensure you are using the latest version of the theme please.

This issue keeps getting spammed. I bet it's got great google ranking for or something stupid, so I guess it's a prime target. I'm locking comments on it.
