Is it possible to have this functionality in a drop down box?

Example I go to mysite.com/taxonomy/term/x
There I want the user to be able to filter the nodes by node type using a drop down box

Can this be implemented using your module?

Hmm. There's really not a UI for this module. It was originally intended to be used with Taxonomy Browser, which does have a UI, with selection lists or check boxes.
