To check the xhtml on my Drupal site, I submitted the urls of all pages to the "w3 validator" at http://validator.w3.org/ . I have found that any pages using swf tags fail validation - with not just one or two errors, but 36 to be precise.

My site uses the Zen Classic theme, and I am using XHTML 1.0 transitional.

Do I need to be concerned that the invalid xhtml will compromise presentation of my audio and video flash files in various browsers?

I'm guessing that probably a lot of these errors are due to the use of the embed tag... Is there any way for me to address this issue?

Thanks,
s.

Setting as a duplicate of #294163: Standards-compliant Flash (although technically this post came first, but you get the idea!).

Anyhow, the new dev work on SWF Tools 5 brings in standards compliant code if you run it with SWF Object 2. Validates as XHTML 1.0 Strict.
