Are the active issues (currently only two I think) going to be addressed, and are there plans to port a Drupal 6 version of the Aurora theme? I couldn't help but notice that vadbars@drupal.org has not committed a project for 46 weeks. And for reference, I think the theme has changed hands two or three times already.

I have created a compatibility patch for D6 (#273313: Drupal 6.x compatibility upgrade).

If the current maintainer doesn't have time, perhaps other people could get commit access? It seems that currently only one maintainer has access to the repository...
