Hello,
I'm thinking of switching from Site5 shared hosting to a VPS. I've found slicehost. I was wondering is 256mb enough memory for me to run three medium sized sites (about 1,000 visitors a day per site) with caching on my drupal sites and pretty much just anonymous page viewing from my customers?

Yes
Yes it surely is. This much traffic can easily be taken care of in lesser shared hosting acounts as well and surely in 256 Mb VPS.
BUt do not count on 256 MB if the traffic spikes or you get featured in the social networking sites (digg, reddit etc)
3000 visitors a day would be perfectly fine, if their times of visit are a bit spread apart during the day.
Just get the mysql config optimized to be on the safer side.

What would I need for big traffic spike?
Hi Steve, Thanks for the quick reply. What would I need to withstand a large traffic spike like digg or reddit?
Would 512mb VPS do it? Or is a dedicated server the only thing that helps with that.
Also I would love to hear others opinions as well.
Thanks
