Contact email and Google aps

Hi,

The release of Drupal 6 got me excited today so I decided to start a new site - I wish to use drupal 6 for the website itself and google apps for staff email accounts. My only problem is that, when a new user registers, or contacts us through our contact form, the return email is my-hosting-account-name@xxxbox.myhost.com instead of contact@mywebsite.com.

I did enter the proper email in "site information" on my site. I'm not very knowledgeable in those matters but my guess is: since the email is at google (different DNS), drupal can't send emails using that address and has to fall back on some generic backup email address.

Is there any easy way to fix this? Is this just a drupal 6 thing or was this issue known for 5 as well?

(I did have a look at google apps authentication http://drupal.org/project/googleauth but it seems to go way further than my needs, I'm still unclear whether or not it is for paying google accounts only and more importantly, it is not updated for drupal 6 yet.)
