Is it possibile to add (or simply replace) the capability of uploading a video instead of providing a custom URL?

You could use the upload module to upload the video onto the node then copy/paste the URL into the custom URL box.

Not the most eloquent method but it'd work..

That doesn't suite for me because i must make uploading and embedding process in the easiest possible way.

I just threw out a solution for you so that you didn't have to wait for this to be implemented; which being a suggestion box rather than a to-do list, may never be implemented.
You should try taking a stab at implementing this and submitting a patch. I think you'll find that the development is fairly easy.

I have some thoughts and preliminary work in this direction, but with the final release slated for today and an update to d6 in the works, don't plan to work on this till at least after drupalcon. You're welcome to put some effort into it, though.

Not being a coder, I'd like to second this request. I'm trying to make it simple enough for web n00bs to be able to use. Some kind of integration with filefield or another upload module to make it 1 step would be excellent.
