I'd love the ability to address the subset of users of one or more roles. For example, given two roles "a" and "b", I'd like to be able to address only those who are members of both "a" and "b", as opposed to all members of "a" or "b". Hope that makes sense.

D'oh. That first sentence should read "two or more roles."

Yes, it makes sense. You want the union of the categories. I'm not likely to do anything about that any time soon, however.

I'm thinking of modularizing the way Mass Contact handles categories and allowing the different methods to be added on as contrib modules. That would be the time that I or someone else (more likely) could add this option as an add-on.

I was interested in sort of the same thing -- an advanced boolean recipient option. For example, send to all in role "B" who don't have role "A".

In my circumstances, users who pay to register for a competition I run are moved to the "registered" role, and it would be nice to be able to email a reminder to all the authenticated users who aren't registered yet, to remind them of the deadline.

Way back when, someone mentioned in another issue thread that it would be useful to be able to send an email to all users in a user-based view. I'm new to this, and not sure how mass contact works so maybe it's not feasible, but it seems this might make mass contact REALLY versatile...?
