I would like to create a file product (I did not find ecommerce.module listed so I'm placing this under upload.module) that when created the file product would show up under a node. So for example...

An Event: Some Exciting Event
Picture: Some Photo
Body: Some Text
Links: Comment (comment module) | Download Audio (the link to the file download product)

Can anyone explain how to do this?

The e-commerce module is not part of Drupal core, so you are asking in the wrong place. I've moved this to the main e-commerce project. You should update the version and component as appropriate. Hopefully now the right group of people will see this.

This seems to have been moved back to Drupal core, probably by the d.o D7 upgrade. Resetting fields to match #3.

Given the time that has elapsed and the fact this is a support request, I'm also going to close the issue.
