I have a simple site using the Garland theme with a couple of menus that I've created that have children. The children portion of the menu works fine I am having problem with the parent portion. I wish to create a parent page that has links to all of the children in the menu similar to the standard Garland theme.

The path portion of the menu creation creation gets me confused since the page I wish to create does not exist. Additionally I would like to know how to create the highlighted links on this page to the children pages.

You could use Views and taxonomy to lump those children nodes together via any categorization you like and then create a view to pull them together and make it display a page view, make the page view your parents destination.
