We have just released the second version of the website www.chariblog.nl. This website has as mission to republish Dutch articles from the charismatic renewal from the seventies on the Internet. The look and feel is not spectacular but the site has a lot of features under the hood.

The template of the site is a modification of the foliage template. Main reason for this choice is the readability (the main content of the site is text). In the footer of the site (in the page.tpl.php) we added the search script for Google analytics. This gives us a tremendous amount of information about the visitors of the site.

The search box is also powered by Google. We used the Google Search Engine module. For the email list we used the simplenews module. The newsletter is important because we do not add content on a daily basis, and therefore the users must be informed when new articles were published. To create HTML newsletters the module mimemail is added to simplenews.

Another nice feature of the site, that contains a lot of bible references, is the use of the scripturefilter module. This filter creates for each bible reference a hyperlink to a online bible. I modified the code of the module to let it use the Dutch version.

Drupal gave is the possibility to create a very useful site in a very short time. We like it a lot.
