Do current themes work with drupal 6 ?

I tried two themes - golden_hour and newfangled - downloaded and put them in sites\all\themes but drupal doesn't seem to recognize them. I can't see them in the themes section. I could use them with drupal 5.x though.

Try filtering the theme results by core compatibility for 6.x.
Theming has been changed
Theming has been changed substantially since Drupal 5. It should be a lot easier in Drupal 6, but the Drupal 5 themes would require some modification.
If you understand what was changed and are familiar with html and css, etc, it might not be too hard to port your favorite theme to Drupal 6.
There are still a lot of things aren't ready for Drupal 6. It is coming though.
