to go along with the pre-launch and testing of a student body & community website for the Institute of Communication Science at the University Münster, Germany. The old site (http://egora.uni-muenster.de/ifk/fachschaft) is in much need of retirement, and while we're at it, we are planning on introducing some community features such as organic groups, private messaging, forums, blogs and the like.
The theme we're using is a slightly modified Garland, which we're calling Kommunity, for that's where our new site's going to launch (http://kommunity.ms). We've set up a demo of the theme at http://demo.kommunity.ms, where you can log in using your @drupal.org account and preview and look around.
Any thoughts or comments upon first glance? Anything unpleasent to the eyes? We're thankful for any critique and we'll try to patch any bugs and/or enhance the theme as far as our (very limited) abilities go.

Good work, i am working for new design for my online community, i am using the fblike theme, but find this one more friendly as it use color module...
I am using advanced forum also, so its good adition if you plan to use forums in your online community, i am trying to use Panels 2 and overrid node display, it will be good also if its a header page / image, as your theme based on garland, you can find more information here (http://drupal.org/node/128395), a good addition will be the png fix (module available)

With user profile theme or blog theme, you can give your users the choice to choose theme from your color. theme creation, you can create many subthemes and give theme a name, users can choose
Your theme give a lot of ideas, will work to add them and let you know, this theme can be a good addition to create an online community
