After installing this module I noticed that my maximum teaser length has been overridden. Is there a way to set a max teaser length?

Also, the main reason I am looking for this type of module is that I have people posting on my site who like to post images and pictures. Some of them post huge pictures, 20 at time. This causes the front page to load very slow. So I thought implementing a teaser section would keep the pictures in the post and not on the main page. So my question is, is there a way to stop all HTML formatting in the teaser section so it only displays text?
