Forgive me, but isn't the functionality that this module provides exactly the same as leaving a comment? What we need here are things like choosing a best answer, either by the asker or by everybody else, just like Y! Answers...

No it isn't like leaving a comment. Choosing the best answers, closing questions and other features are coming to this module, currently it provides only a basic framework you can build upon.
