Taxonomy help

topogijo - July 9, 2003 - 17:59

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the concept of taxonomy and how to implement it in drupal. I have a general grasp of how it works but I am having a hard time putting one together. I was wondering if anyone had a step by step on how to build a simple, functional taxonomy hierarchy that I go through and understand the concepts better. Any information is appreciated.

Thank you,
Topo

Handbook page on taxonomy

It's not quite a "step by step", but a very thorough and useful discussion of taxonomy.module concepts/features can be found in the handbook at http://drupal.org/node/view/299. If that page doesn't provide enough info for you to set up your first vocabulary, then do re-post with specific questions. Cheers!

Taxonomy menu (block)

The taxonomy_html and taxonomy_dhtml modules at Downloads > Contrib can generate menu blocks for each vocabulary. It's a very slick way to provide taxonomy-based navigation.
