6.0 is out, so just opening this issue as a placeholder. You never know, might do it for you if I find the time.

I've had a 6.x version of this in CVS since September. It still needs to be revisited and then a proper release created.

I won't be cutting tags for any of my modules (except coder) until I start to upgrading sites to 6.x. And I won't be upgrading sites until CCK, Views, Node Queue, and Panels are released.

Just checking in on all the modules required to upgrade my site, it seems your pre-reqs are ready to start moving ahead :)

taxonomy_role seems to do the same thing.

Since taxonomy_role is functionally very close to this if not identical, might be worth looking at a merge rather than a Drupal 6 version.
