Not so nice menus in IE 7

Hello,

I am not sure if I am having a similar problem as the people who have posted IE compatability issues, but something is pretty messed up in IE 7 for my nice menus. I decided to make this its own issue because the other issue may have been fixed and is possibly very different.

Everything in Firefox is perfect, but in IE I get menus that cannot be clicked because of the distance from the main menu list and that have transparent backgrounds (see attachments).

When I first added the submenus the firefox NM looked this way, but then I edited the CSS to where I needed it to be. Apparently the changes didn't translate to IE. Is there another places in the style sheet I need to make changes for IE?

Also, is there a way to get rid of those arrows?

Sorry to put this to critical, since I developed this in FF it is already on my live site and I just checked the IE.
