I marked this critical because I need to launch my site soon. The problem is when I try to add a picture to the user profile, I get a message saying:

"The e-mail address is already registered. Have you forgotten your password?"

I'm already logged in and accessing the "My Account/Edit" page and not trying to change or register the email address. The email address is correct but the form won't let me upload the picture due to this error.

Please advise.

I just tried this with multiple accounts and had no issues uploading a picture for the various accounts. Have you tried disabling any contrib modules to see if there's some interaction causing the error?

I figured out the problem. I set up a separate test account in which I was mistakenly using the same email address as the admin account. Once I changed the email address it worked just fine. Sorry for the trouble.
