I am trying to adjust the teaser length that you get on a taxonomy page for all the items posted to that category, this is probably very simple but i'm being thick and can't work out what to do!

I have adjusted the teaser length in the post settings option but this says it will adjust it for the frontpage and syndicated content, but I want the teaser on the taxonomy list pages to be longer.

Have I actually changed it by adjusting the teaser length in the post settings option (as it stated that it will only affect new and revision postings) or is there something else I have to do?

Any help will be much appreciated

I am not sure if you can do what you are wanting directly (in fact, I am not sure I understand what you are trying to do), however, it sounds like the Views modules would give you the granular control you want.

I have a similar, but different problem on a site where I am not quite happy with the default taxonomy listing, and the views module solves it elegantly and easily (after you get to understand the module).

very simple just go to admin/content/node-type/question/display
where 'question' is the content type.

just select "exclude" next the fields you do not have to display in the teaser.

Note: ** this solution is useful if you have multiple fields in your node.
