When updating from ver 5.6 to ver 5.7 when I open a category that has images I get the following message

* The derivative images for Y Axis Power Block have been regenerated.
* The derivative images for X Axis have been regenerated.

but the photos are gone.
If I go back to ver 5.6 and open the category I again get this message

* The derivative images for Y Axis Power Block have been regenerated.
* The derivative images for X Axis have been regenerated.

and the photos are back.

This feels like an Image bug, not a core bug

This bug report is so old I doubt the OP has the problem any more, and I would hope it's since been fixed, as there's been at least code released on the 5 branch since this was filed. Hence closing.
