yes, i DID search all over the forums, followed the progress on tagadelic patches this past week for 6 - though it seems like it all depends on a more robust commit for tagadelic and/or the new views2 coming out in perhaps a month...

or am i all wrong?

is there a way - today - to present tag clouds inside a drupal 6 installation for a single vocabulary like 'tags' ? seriously, i did search all over but i was led to those two conclusions above (tagadelic is in patch-a-day mode for d6 and views2 is a month away0

thoughts? advice?

for now i'm drawing a tag cloud manually on unlined white printer paper, photographing it and then pulling the image into cs3 and creating an interactive image map such that each term links through to the vocabulary page within the drupal installation and the user has no idea it's a giant hyperlinked image file BUT it takes hours and hours to draw these things, photograph and edit them and the sizes of the tags has to change all of the time so users won't catch on, and so i've gone through dozens of erasers and all of my mom's printer paper (sorry moms') and at this point i'm not sure if spending 14 hours a day working on paper tag clouds is worth it just to have that 'web 2.0' feel for my site, y'know?

In the meantime, while waiting for modules to be ported .. why not go for the web 3.0 feel and not have a tag cloud? ;)

instead of 'hard launching' the site on the interweb, i've actually been promoting it by printing out all pages and stapling them together and distributing at local events - it's a totally different approach, but people seem to love it! of course, going house to house to update content is slow and expensive, but i could maybe hire people for that, you know, drive over, remove staples, update pages then rebind...
