Hi Everyone!!

My name's Josh Aronoff and I work in Pittsburgh, PA for the Carnegie Science Center. I also do freelance web design and have been using Drupal and CMS's for awhile now. drupal 6 looks amazing, and the fact that Drupal's power such high profile sites like Fast Company, ESPN, Warner Records, The Onion, etc.

I want to find people in Pittsburgh who are into Drupal and start a meet up group that meets monthly for beers and sandwiches (when in pittsburgh, do what pittsburgh does.) and can share ideas, module ideas, code, site ideas, developement, etc.

My goal is not only for the community, but for myself as well. I am a trained graphic designer, who does print design and web, but I don't know that much about programming, databases, etc. and I am eager to learn. I also am looking for people who would want to eventually work together to potentially do some redesign work of sites that I'm in charge of and want to do in the future.

I'm going to be posting on Craigslist as well. Anywhere else do you think would be good to find people?

Im an independant developer that has just recently started using drupal. Im not overly experienced with it, and im around 2 hours away but I do travel to the burgh every once in a while.

Josh-

I just stumbled upon your Drupal post here about meet up groups in the Pittsburgh area and would be VERY interested in joining/starting one. I too am trained as a graphic designer and have been doing freelance web design, working mainly with Drupal, for about a year now. Programming and the such are not my strongpoints either, but I know I have other skills and knowledge that I can bring to the table.

Let me know if you are still interested in this. It may be hard in a place like Pittsburgh to find a whole lot of people using Drupal at this point, but then again I may be surprised. Hopefully there are more people than I think who are in the same boat as us and would like to learn more and share what they know already about Drupal and web design. Beer and sandwiches sound great too!

I see you posted this in February, so hopefully you are still interested and will read this posting here.

I'm in the 'burgh as well, and would love to meet other Drupal developers. Not to be nebby, but it doesn't look like there's been much recent action over at groups.drupal.org in PGH & SW PA. I work at Pitt, and am headed to Drupalcon DC in march. If anyone wants to carpool or is interested in meeting up before (or after), do get in touch...
