Hi all

I have started to add more news feeds so I figured I would group them into categories. First I added the feed and updated it to make sure it worked. Then I put it in one or more categories such as local news, then regional news then national news and so on.

Mostly this all works fine except some feeds are not being updated into the catgories. They are no different (i.e. they are all xml feeds) but they stubbornly refuse to go into the categories assign them. The feeds update fine and show if you view all feed sources as a list. I don't know how t fix this because I am new to drupal. Can anyone suggest anyhting?

I was hoping someone would have commented by now on the reason why news aggregator does not put all the xml feeds into the selected categories. Is this a bug or a known problem with a workaround?

Can anyone offer up any nuggets of information?

Since nobody could be bothered to reply, this is the solution in case someone else has this problem.

Configure Cron to update the RSS feeds. This will force the feed to update the categories and everything starts to work. No idea why - it just does.

UG I am having the same problem. Suddenly my newsfeeds are not going into the right categories!! If I go into the feed and categorize a news item, it files into the right category but if I edit the entire feed and check mark the category, the feed does not go into the category.. It's driving me BONKERS! This is the 5th or 5th drupal site I have set up and it has always worked fine. I have run cron, flushed cache and it is still giving me problems.

I don't understand what you mean by configuring cron to update feeds.. I have never had to do anything with cron except run it which I do and it updates the feeds but the feeds just are not showing up the categories they are assigned to. This is the most bizarre Drupal problem I have ever had...
