If I create custom buttons using standard css stuff such as <span class="classname"> Whizzywig doesn't load. I just get a normal text area. I'm I supposed to wrap it in something?

Many bugs has fixed and Whizzywig library now in v57 version.
Also, I have port Whizzywig to Drupal 6. So, please try this new version and create new post if you need any help.
