Bulk creation of aliases for image nodes does not work at all, not aliases are generated whatsoever. No error message either.

Not a duplicate as far as I can tell.

This is about nodes, not galleries, and no aliases are created at all.

I can confirm this problem. Aliases aren't created for imported Image Nodes. Even when resaving the node, no alias is created.

Is this only for "imported" image nodes?

This functionality is working fine for me with 5.x-2.x-dev: (see http://wanderlusting.org/image/the-4-of-us-humahuaca with a pattern of "image/[title-raw]" or http://chipotlog.com/image-galleries/stores/1644-e-evans-denver-colorado... with a pattern of "image-galleries/[termpath-raw]/[title-raw]" for example)

So...I don't know how to repeat the bug as stated.

Yes, only for imported image nodes.

This was reported against 5.x-2.1, not against 5.x-2.x-dev. Can you please try to reproduce with 2.1?

For me, bulk update doesn't workng at all, not just images.

Well, there is now a 5.x-2.3 so everyone should update to that first and re-test their problems. In particular bulk generate has some tweaks in that release.
