Website for a new gym concept that we decided to use Drupal as the CMS. I worked on this using development branches of 6 and just finished updating it to the final release of Drupal 6. No custom modules yet but we may add some if we find some with the functionality we want.

looks great! i like the very non-drupally look and feel...are you using mods? would you mind a quick walkthrough of how you built it on top of this design? seems to be no use of panels or views, or maybe i'm wrong..

I did start out looking at panels and views but they were a bit of overkill for what I needed to do. I ended up using a few custom functions in my template.php file that helped me do some pre-processing work.

There are many different "looks" for the site. depending on where you are in the site determines what "look" you see. for example: 2 or 3 column and different column widths. Once I had a way to change the column orders, custom block positions and pages passing php code back helped rearrange the layout and call up the correct content.

the only modules I am using is:

  • Contact
  • Menu
  • Path
  • PhP Filter
  • Taxonomy

I am happy with the overall feel of the site and I am sure we will continue to advance it as we grow. I did not want a typical template look and feel and I think we pulled that off nice.

Thank you for the feedback.

easily, it has web 2.0 all over with the huge -easy to read-graphics, i love it. this site also shows the power of using images. you must have spent quite a bit of change on all the photos you used.

We did spend a bit on all the stock photography for the site but we also used them on all of our posters and advertisements. The look matches everything we did even when you walk into the gym so that helped cover the cost.

There are a few areas I am still unhappy with but it is coming along nice. we are still drumming up content too :)

Thank you again for the feedback

+1 on the previous responses. The design is really clean and user friendly overall.
