I got no problem at all, since I upgrade from drupal 5.6 to 5.7.

Well, I rebuilt the panel page. I found out that I get the fatal error every time I insert a "view_slideshow" in the panel. Actually the new built panel is not broken for ever when I insert the view_slideshow, it works again as I throw away the view_slideshow ... so I'm able to reproduce the problem at will.
